"MOST COMMON QUESTIONS"
?What is flush ceiling
A flush ceiling, often achieved by the ideal installation of beams, is a design choice that can significantly enhance the beauty and roominess of a space. By seamlessly integrating beams into the ceiling structure, a higher ceiling can be created, making the space feel open and airy. This not only offers more design possibilities for various lighting options but also results in a beautiful and uncluttered space, making flush ceiling installations the preferred choice for those aiming for a modern and visually appealing interior
?What is dropped ceiling
Dropped beams, though not always the first choice for design, are often a cost-effective solution due to structural requirements. They play a crucial role in maintaining the building’s integrity. Plus, the bulkheads created by these dropped beams offer an opportunity for creative design, allowing you to incorporate decorative elements and unique lighting solutions that can enhance the overall aesthetic of the space
?STEEL BEAMS or LVLs
Steel beams are renowned for their exceptional longevity and durability. They are resistant to rot, pests, and warping, ensuring a lasting structural solution. Their strength allows for longer spans, reducing the need for additional columns and, in turn, minimizing dropped ceilings, which can create more open and aesthetically pleasing spaces. Steel beams are particularly well-suited for high-stress applications where structural integrity is paramount. On the other hand LVLs are less expensive than steel beams and easier to install. They are relatively lightweight, making them manageable for construction teams
?How long will it take
For a relatively straightforward residential project, the installation of a single beam might take a day or less. However, in larger, more intricate projects, such as commercial or industrial constructions, beam installations can extend over several days or even weeks. Factors like the need for additional structural modifications, connections, or the presence of architectural features that need to be considered can significantly impact the installation timeline
?What is temporary support
Temporary supports act as construction’s safety net, like training wheels for a bike, maintaining stability until permanent structures are ready to take the lead. These supports, often made of steel or timber beams with bracing, bear the weight and ensure safety for workers and the entire project. Actually, shoring and temporary supports are the behind-the-scenes heroes of construction, securing everything and safeguarding everyone
What other components or systems might be affected
After the removal of a wall, it’s not uncommon to encounter various components that may need to be relocated for the new layout to function seamlessly. These components typically include electrical wiring, plumbing pipes, and HVAC ducts. To ensure a smooth transition and a safe, well-functioning space, it’s essential to have these items checked and assessed by experienced professionals
